It is with regret that we note the following deaths from County Cavan over the past 24 hours, as reported on RIP.ie

None were reported from County Monaghan over the period.

Peggy Brady (née Naughton)

4 St.Phelim's Place, Cavan Town, Cavan, H12 WK79 / Curraghboy, Roscommon

Peggy Brady (nee Naughton), 4 St.Phelim's Place, Cavan Town and formerly Ardmullen, Curraghboy, Co. Roscommon. Tuesday, May 16th 2023, peacefully in the loving care of her family and the staff at St. Joseph's, Lisdarn, Cavan, in her 102nd year. Predeceased by her parents, her husband Joseph, son Francie and daughters Dympna and Barbara. Peggy will be very sadly missed and dearly loved by all her family, sons Gerard and Kieran, daughter Marion Leahy (Jessie), adored grandchildren Paula, Deborah, Audrey, Gerard and David, her nine great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, nephews, nieces, all her relatives and many, many friends.

May she rest in peace.

Reposing at her home (H12 WK79)on Wednesday from 2pm until 8pm. Removal on Thursday morning at 11am to the Cathedral of SS. Patrick and Felim, Cavan, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11.30. After Mass the cortège will travel to Cullies Cemetery for committal prayers and burial in the family plot. Butlersbridge, Cavan / Drumcondra, Dublin

Dunne Philip J. (Butlersbridge, Co. Cavan and College Manor, Drumcondra), May 16, 2023, in the wonderful care of the staff of St. Clare’s Ward, Beaumont Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by his loving parents Joe and Veronica and his sister Mary and brother-in-law Brian. Sadly missed by his siblings, Raymond, Gabrielle, Colette, P.J. and Cormac and remembered with love by his brothers-in-law, Johnny and Declan, sisters-in-law, Maura, Rena and Suzanne, nieces and nephews, his extended family and a wide circle of neighbours and friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing on Thursday May 18th at his home in Butlersbridge from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm. Removal to St. Aidan’s Church, Butlersbridge at 10.45 for Requiem Mass at 11.00 am on Friday, May 19, followed by interment in local cemetery. Philip’s Funeral Mass can be viewed live (link to follow).
