Carol Bent (née Conway)

New Street Mews, Virginia, Cavan

The death has occurred of Carol Bent (nee Conway), New Street Mews, Virginia, Co. Cavan and late of Drumheel, Virginia, Co. Cavan, at Cavan General Hospital, on 20 May 2023.

Predeceased by her parents John and Nancy, her brothers JJ and George and her sister Rose.

Much loved mother of Leighanne and Daven.

Deeply regretted by her heartbroken daughter and son, her sisters Marie, Josie, Patricia and her brother Frankie, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Matthews Funeral Home, Bailieborough Road, Virginia (A82YV58), on Tuesday from 5 o'clock until prayers at 7 o'clock.

Removal to Mary Immaculate Church, Virginia on Wednesday for 11 o'clock Funeral Mass, followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium.

The death has occurred of Eddie Fisher, formerly of Munelta, Stradone, Co Cavan, Saturday, April 8th, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife Carol, loving sons Colin and Peter, daughters Louise Smith (Ballyhaise) & Pauline, son-in-law Declan, daughter-in-law Jenna, grandchildren Bethany, Kelsey, Cian, Conor, Olivia and Eoin and great-grandchildren Kayden and Mason.

Patrick (Paddy) Leonard

Tay Road, Cobh, Cork / Ballyhaise, Cavan

The death has occurred of Patrick (Paddy) Leonard of Tay Road, Cobh, Co. Cork. Formerly of Ballyhaise Co. Cavan. Beloved husband of the late Elisabeth (Lil) Leonard and loving father of Siobhán and Colette. Sadly missed by sons in law Paul and Scott, adored grandchildren Leonie, Cianán, Ruán, Hugo, Aoibhinn, Sean, Euan and great-grandfather to Éabha Lilly. Sadly missed by his loving family, brothers Joseph, Jim, Thomas and the late John, his sisters Mary and Kathleen and late Susanna, his nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.

Olive Pearson (née Weir), Balrath House, Ballinea, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and late of Arva, Co Cavan – May 21, 2023 (peacefully) at her home in the company of her beloved husband and family.

Dearly loved wife of John and wonderful and loving mother of Sarah, Denise, Lynda, Heather, Aubrey and Shane, Olive will be greatly missed and deeply regretted by her heartbroken husband and family, daughters-in-law Deirdre and Kitty, sons-in-law Jim, Winston, Rachid and Francis, her adored grandchildren Sam, Rebecca, Shannon, Samia, Alex, Charlie, Rowena, Ibrahim, Jason, Ikram, Kawthar, Amana, Malachy, Leon and Poppy, great-grandchildren Harvey, Nour and Luay, sisters-in-law Lily and Marjorie, brother-in-law John, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

Monday, May 22nd, peacefully at the Mater Private Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by his parents Martin and Katie. Deeply regretted and remembered with love by his family, brothers Michael and Martin, sisters Patsy, Celia, Mary and Bernie, brothers in-law Joe, Brendan and Seamus, sisters in-law Anne and Eileen, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, extended family, former colleagues past and present of An Garda Síochána and his many friends both in Castleblayney and Westport.

The death has occurred of Michael McCabe, Clonacullion, Lisnalong, Co. Monaghan, Sunday, 21st May, peacefully in Cavan General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Nuala, daughter Roisin (Francis), sons Eoin (Aileen), Stephen (Geraldine), Ciaran (Briege), his sister Rosemarie, and his adoring grandchildren, Michael, Ellie, Tomás, Fergal, Shay, Kathlyn, Orla, Leanne, and James, his sisters in law, Patsy, Marcella, Theresa and Marie, his nieces, nephews and extended McCabe and Hannigan families and close friends.

Predeceased by his loving parents Owen and Rose, his sisters Annie-May and Kathleen, brothers Packie, Eugene and Sean.

Reposing at his residence (H18 A250) on Tuesday 23rd from 2pm until 9pm. Removal from his residence on Wednesday morning 24th to arrive at Saint Mary’s Church, Latton (A75 YY09) for 11am Funeral Mass. Interment afterward in adjoining cemetery.

Bridie Meegan (née Duffy)

Moyles, Inniskeen, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Bridie Meegan (née Duffy) in her 92nd year, Moyles, Inniskeen, peacefully, in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, surrounded by her loving family. Bridie, much loved wife of the late Eddie, beloved mother of Michael, John, Caroline, Edmund, Brian and Martina. Sadly missed and remembered with love by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters in law, sons in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her late residence from 4pm until 8pm on Tuesday 23rd May and Wednesday 24th May. Removal Thursday morning 25th from her residence in Moyles to The Church of Mary Mother of Mercy Inniskeen, arriving for 11am Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in St Mary's Cemetery, Inniskeen.

The death has occurred of Tom Rooney. Florida, USA & formerly Donaghmoyne, Carrickmacross. 16th May 2023. Peacefully, in Florida. Predeceased by his wife Mary, his parents Patrick & Marie, his brothers Liam, Brian & Joe and his sister Kitty.
