Gowna farmers star in C O'Neill's new video

SINGLE Video for How Do Ya Do shot by Padraig Conaty

The summer tradition of making square bales is celebrated in a glorious new video released for Ciaran O'Neill's single How Do Ya Do.

The video was shot by Pádraig Conaty in picturesque rural south Cavan and the hazy summer vibe chimes perfectly with the relaxed O'Neill song.

"‘Meitheal’ is an old Irish term that describes how neighbours would come together to assist in the harvesting of crops and other such tasks," explains Ciaran in a social media post.

"Like much of the modern world, rural life has been affected by the advances and efficiencies of technology, which has sadly seen a decline in the communal aspects of the harvest.

"In Loch Gowna, Co Cavan, TP Smith gathers his hay every Summer with his vintage machinery and the help of his neighbours young and old."

How Do Ya Do is the first single released from C O'Neill & Co's eagerly anticipated second album.

A fantastic live version of the song, performed without an audience in Townhall Cavan, had previously been captured by Conaty.
