Cavan's newest production group are set to perform their first show on Monday.

Hoodwink Productions are set to show "Bloodties" on Monday, October 30 in Drumavaddy Community Hall.

'Bloodties' is a gripping drama set in the late 1940s on the Burnham Family Estate in Mississippi. Family members navigate complex relationships as an unwitting outsider gets caught in the middle of long standing family politics.

The Burnham Family have a history of buried truths as they use them against one another as ammunition.

This intriguing drama unravels generations of blood ties.The future of the Burnham Estate now lies in the hands of the brave versus the bold.

Hoodwink Productions was founded by Vanessa Galligan and Elaine Birkett following a week spent at the Drama League of Ireland Summer School.

Vanessa started acting with Longford based drama group; The Backstage Theatre Group, and was director for many years with Mostrim Players & Legan Bea Masterson in Co. Longford.

Since moving to Cavan, she has been eager to get involved with a Cavan based group. Elaine Birkett is an actor and playwright.

She was highly commended in a previous DLI One Act Writing Competition. Their first show is a new peice of writing by Elaine titled 'Bloodties'.

The ladies met at the Summer School '23 and realised that they both live in Cavan now and were equally eager to set up a new group .

They combined their skills and ideas, set up their own drama group and approached well known Phil Gilbride, local actor and director, on board to form the perfect team for their debut as Hoodwink Productions on the One Act Circuit in the Confined Competition.
