Party time in Arva

The community of Arva is still buzzing after the local GAA team claimed the Ulster Junior title.

Keeping in the party mood, owner of Breffni Arms Hotel, Eamonn Gray, is getting ready to host enjoyable Christmas party nights for his customers. The team happily welcome Irish Country legend, Declan Nerney, for one night of music on Saturday, December 16.

The festivities will kick off with a mulled wine reception on arrival for diners, as well as a five-course dinner. The man himself, Declan Nerney, will take to the stage shortly after the dinner.

Customers are guaranteed a night of fun and festive music, including many of Nerney's hits like 'Stop the World and Let Me Off'.

Having been in the music industry since he was 16, Nerney kicked off his career in a local band 'The Hi-Lows' from Drumlish in Co Longford. Now, at 64 years young, he is still singing and entertaining crowds all over the country.

Eamonn Gray told The Anglo-Celt that business has been very good in 2023, in particular food. The Breffni Arms serves food all day and offers a range of popular dishes on its menu.

Looking ahead to the new year, the team hope to "hold onto what we have and improve it".

"We're constantly upgrading," reveals Eamonn.

"We get a large percentage of continental and overseas visitors," he adds.

The Breffni Arms also accommodate a large number of visiting British anglers, which is a big boost to their business.

Eamonn Gray and the staff and management at the Breffni Arms Hotel wish all their customers and everyone in the community a Happy Christmas and a positive start to the New Year. They look forward to welcoming their customers over the Christmas season.

They would also like to congratulate the Arva footballers and management on their brilliant win.

"A third of a parish, living with you!"
