Patrick (Packie Joe) Brady

The death has occurred of Patrick (Packie Joe) Brady, died 17th February 2024. Late of Caventymahon, Tunnyduff, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan.

Peacefully in Cavan General Hospital, in his 90th year, surrounded by his loving family.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Ann, sons Declan and Padraig, daughter-in-law Aisling, his adored grandchildren Shane, Laura and Alannah, his brother Matt, sisters-in-law Kathleen and Nancy, brother-in-law Michael, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Clarke's Funeral Home Bailieborough this Monday evening from 5pm to 8pm. Removal on Tuesday morning to St. Brigid's Church Knockbride West arriving for 11 o'clock Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Sean Flynn, No 1 Hotel Street, Tinnahinch, Graiguenamanagh, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Cormaddyduff, Virgina, Co. Cavan.

Peacefully, after a short illness at his home on Saturday, 17th February 2024.

Pre-deceased by his father Gerard and his brother Kieran.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, daughter Bernie, sons John and Trevor and their mother Catherine, his mother Kathleen, brother Gerard, sisters Ursula, Geraldine, Fidelma and Georgina, grandchildren James, Justin, Mia and Rachel, brothers-in-law Gerard, Noel, Andy and Bernard, sisters-in-law Brenda, Ann, Annie, Vera and Breda, daughters-in-law Fiona, Alicia and Caroline, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing in Molloy’s Funeral Home, Callan (Eircode R95 Y443) on Monday, 19th February from 5pm, concluding with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 7pm.

Funeral Prayers on Tuesday morning at 10.15am followed by removal to The Church of the Assumption, Callan, Co. Kilkenny for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial will follow afterwards in St. Mary’s Church Cemetery, Castlerahan, Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan arriving approximately at 3pm.

Bridie Foy (Nee Martin) 24 Griffith Park, Cootehill, Co. Cavan. Sunday 18th February 2024 peacefully at the Lisdarn Unit Cavan surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Hugh, and daughter Donna-Marie, parents James and Cassie Martin, brother and sisters. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family, son Thomas, his partner Clare, her adored grandchildren Ethan and Niamh, brothers John and Squire, sisters Peggy and Dinah, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbours, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at Mullen’s Funeral Home Cootehill (H16 FD25) on Monday from 4pm to 6pm, followed by removal to arrive at St. Michael’s Church Cootehill for 6.30pm. Funeral mass on Tuesday morning at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Cootehill.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if so desired to St. Joseph & the Helpers Charity C/O Mullen’s Funeral Directors, Cootehill or any family member.

The death has occurred of Jimmy Cooney, Lisgrey, Virginia, Co. Cavan peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his father Francis, mother Bridget and his brother Frank.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Phyllis, son Stephen (Colleen), daughter Bríd (Damien) and his adored grandchildren Eoin, Oisin, Danny Óg and Kate, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his home A82NH77 on Saturday from 4.30pm until prayers at 8.30pm. Removal to Mary Immaculate Church, Virginia on Sunday arriving for 2 o'clock Funeral Mass with burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clannphilip. House private at all other times please.

Sean Foster, Brick House, Cornabragher, Tullyvin, Cootehill, Co Cavan Friday the 16th of February peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family following a short illness. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Margaret.

Beloved husband of Teresa, loving father of Mags (George), Damien (Sally), Carmel (Cyril), Sean Og (Laura), adored grandfather to Adam, Mia, Zoe, Madison, Paul and Erin. Sean will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife, sons, daughters, grandchildren, brother Tom, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at Mullen's funeral home, Cootehill, Co Cavan (H16EH61) on Saturday the 17th of February from 5pm until 8pm. Reposing at his residence on Sunday the 18th of February, house private to family, friends and neighbours. Removal to St Patrick's Church, Corick, Drummury, Cootehill, Co Cavan (H16C665) on Monday the 19th of February to arrive for 12 o'clock funeral mass, followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Molly (Mary) Rooney, (Neé Flanagan) Tullyhatina, Oram, Castleblayney, Co.Monaghan. Sunday February 18th peacefully in the exceptional, tender loving care of the nurses and staff Drumore Unit, St Mary’s Hospital Castleblayney.

Predeceased by her husband Eugene and brother Peter.

Molly, deeply regretted and remembered with love by her adoring four boys and their wives, Eamonn (Sheila) Cork, Declan (Claudia) New York, Pascal (Michelle) Smithbrough and Enda (Cliodhna) Castleblayney, her eight cherished grandchildren Niamh, Orla, Laoise, Eoin, Cían, Cora, Mark and Jack , nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Removal from the residence on Wednesday morning at 11.15 am to arrive St Patrick’s Church Oram for funeral mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

Kathleen Gaffney, née Keon, Chicago Ridge, and formerly of Askill, Kinlough, Co. Leitrim, Ireland peacefully at Advocate Christ Hospital after a short illness. Beloved wife of the late Noel; Loving sister to Maureen, the late Anne and John; Cherished mother of Genevieve (Tom), Noelle, Maeve (Padraic), Brenda (Craig) and Lorna (Michael); Adored Grandmother of Tara, Adrienne, Noelle, Catherine, Michael, Pierce, Siobhan, Sean, and PJ; The great granny to Abbie, Emma, Eoghan, Olivia, and Finn.

Kathleen will be sadly missed by her brother in law Mick, sisters-in-law Margaret, Mary, Noreen, Angie, and Jean, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews in Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the UK and the USA, the entire extended Gaffney and Keon families and a wide circle of friends.

Kathleen was a respected business owner whose Oak Lawn travel agency, Gaffney Travel, was well known in the Irish community and in the southwest suburbs. In her more than 40 years in business, she was a beloved boss known as Mrs G to everyone in the office.

Catherine (Kathleen) McArdle

The death has occurred of Catherine (Kathleen) McArdle (née McCullough). Lisnamoyle, Culloville, Castleblayney. 17th February 2024. Peacefully, surrounded by her cherished family, in the wonderful care of the staff of Sunhill Nursing Home, Termonfeckin.

Predeceased by her beloved husband PJ, her parents Matty & Annie, her brother Seamus, her son-in-law Maxie O'Connor and her godson Sean Clarke.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by her beloved family, her daughters Tonia & Aisling and her son Cathal, her son-in-law John Doolan and her daughter-in-law Martina, her much-loved grandchildren Aoife, Pádraic, Tara, Maitiú & Aisling, her sister Rose Clarke, her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends & neighbours.

Catherine will repose at her home, Lisnamoyle A75 RP74, on Sunday, 18th February, from 2pm until 8pm and on Monday, 19th February, from 2pm until 4pm. House private at all other times.

Catherine's funeral cortège will leave her home on Monday evening, 19th February, proceeding to St. Lastra's Church, Donaghmoyne, arriving for Prayers of Reception at 6pm.

Catherine's Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Lastra's Church on Tuesday, 20th February, at 11am followed by burial in St. Michael's Cemetery.
