Sad passing of popular Ballinagh man
The Ballinagh and wider Cavan community are in mourning today following the passing of Thomas Moore from Ballinagh.
The popular young man passed away yesterday surrounded by his loving family in the care of the staff at Beaumont Hospital following an illness bravely borne.
He is sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, his wife Caroline (formerly Smith from Castlerahan) and their son Thomas Jnr and the wider family and community.
A highly respected postman, Thomas' work took him all over the county and he was a popular figure on his rounds.
Thomas played a key role in midfield when the local football club won the Senior County Title in 2013. He was also captain for Ballinagh when they lifted the Intermediate title in 2020.
The family is highly regarded in GAA circles with Tom Snr the current treasurer of Cavan County Board.
His parents Tom and Kathleen are also the proprietors of the Spar store on Ballinagh's Main Street.
Tributes are pouring in from his teammates in Ballinagh, his colleagues in An Post and the wider community.
Please note, the family homes are private.
Funeral arrangements to follow.
May Thomas Rest in Peace.
