Mild May, dry weather continues

Weather update from Met Éireann

Plenty of dry and sunny weather over the coming days but with the chance of a few showers developing, especially on Sunday. That's the latest weather outlook from Met Éireann.

Dry and bright today with lots of sunshine and just scattered fair-weather cloud. Top temperatures will generally range from 16 to 20 degrees but it will be a little cooler at the coast with mostly light northerly or variable breezes.

It will be dry and clear overnight with just light breezes. Lowest temperatures will range from 3 to 7 degrees, coolest in Ulster.

It will be another mainly dry day on Thursday with a mixture of cloud and sunshine. There is just the small chance of an isolated shower in the south. Highest temperatures ranging from 12 to 18 degrees, coolest in the east and warmest in the west in moderate easterly winds.

It will be a dry and mostly clear night Thursday with just scattered cloud. Turning rather cold where skies remain clear with lowest temperatures of 1 to 6 degrees in light winds which will vary in direction.

Friday will be another largely dry day with plenty of sunshine. However, there is the possibility of one or two showers developing in the southwest and west. Maximum temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees in mostly light to moderate southerly winds.

Most of the country will remain dry on Friday night with clear spells but it will turn cloudier in Atlantic coastal counties with the chance of some rain edging in from the Atlantic later in the night. Lowest temperatures of between 4 and 9 degrees, coolest in the southeast of the country with light southerly breezes.

It will be a predominantly dry day on Saturday with spells of sunshine for many. However, there will be more in the way of cloud across some western and northwestern areas with the chance of a few showers there. Maximum temperatures will range from 15 to 19 degrees in light southerly breezes.

Dry across the bulk of the country on Saturday night with clear skies. However, there is the chance of rain edging in from the Atlantic to affect some western fringes. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees.

There'll be some showers around on Sunday but also with decent spells of sunshine. Maximum temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees.
