Two hospitalised after Ballyconnell e-scooter incident

A child was conveyed to Temple Street Children’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, while a teen was conveyed to Cavan General Hospital.

The N87 near Black Ridge roundabout in Ballyconnell remains closed this morning after a road traffic incident involving an e-scooter yesterday evening.

One male child was conveyed to Temple Street Children’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Another male teen was conveyed to Cavan General Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene which occured at approximately 7:15pm yesterday.

"The road is closed for technical examination, local diversions are in place," a garda spokesperson confirmed.

"Investigations are ongoing," they stated.
