Virginia business Fire Doors Ireland take home regional award
Monaghan firm, SPRYT, won overall national prize
Fire Doors Ireland, the Virginia business success story, has just won the North East Region Award at the National Enterprise Awards.
Owned and run by Declan and Amanda Sharkey, Fire Doors Ireland is a Q Mark Certified manufacturer, installer and maintainer of fire doors.
The team were in Mansion House, Dublin last night for the prestigious awards ceremony which recognises and celebrates the best of Irish business and entrepreneurship.
Meanwhile, SPRYT, the digital healthcare company from Monaghan Town, was announced as the overall winner at this year’s National Enterprise Awards during a ceremony at the Mansion House in Dublin last night (Thursday).
This year’s winners share a €50,000 investment fund.
SPRYT, which has its headquarters in Monaghan Town was founded by Daragh Donohoe and Neill Dunwoody in 2022.
Their digital systems make medical appointment booking simple for patients while increasing appointment attendance for healthcare systems.
The awards, which are an initiative of the Local Enterprise Office and now in their 25th year, aim to celebrate the best small businesses in Ireland.
Managing Director of Fire Doors Ireland, Declan Sharkey, told the Celt "Cavan Local Enterprise Office mentored us through every stage of our business development because they have the expertise. It's only when we got to this stage can we look back and see everything Cavan LEO has done for us."
