Council plans to develop community space in Ballyconnell

CAVAN County Council has announced plans to develop the Market Square and Preaching House Lane area of Ballyconnell.

According to a post on the council’s website, the plan is to demolish an old dwelling house on the site to make way for a new community space and gardens including a covered outdoor area.

Civil works will include the widening and realignment of Preaching House Lane including kerbing and landscaping.

An ancillary structure to the rear of the dwelling house is to be turned into a community storage facility.

The plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection or purchase at the Farnham Centre, Cavan or at the Cavan-Belturbet MD office, Ballyconnell, by appointment only, by June 26.

Members of the public who wish to make a submission or observation on the proposed project can do so in writing up until July 10 at Community & Enterprise Section, Farnham Centre, Farnham Street, Cavan or online at www.planning.localgov.ie/enup
