Dry with warm spells of hazy sunshine

Scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle will extend up across much of Munster this morning. Dry elsewhere to begin with sunny spells, though cloud will gradually build as patchy rain and drizzle pushes further north through the afternoon. Much of Ulster will remain dry with warm spells of hazy sunshine. Highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees in mostly light southeast or variable breezes.

Mostly dry at first tonight but a band of showery rain will push into the western half of the country later. Mist and fog will affect southern counties too. Mild and humid night with lowest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees in light to moderate southeast breezes.

Thursday will be a rather cloudy, wet and breezy day, as spells of thundery rain continue to push in across the country from the west; driest and mildest across the East with some sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 18 to 23 degrees in moderate to fresh southwest winds.

Lingering rain across eastern counties will soon clear into the Irish Sea overnight on Thursday with some showers feeding into Atlantic counties; otherwise dry with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees in light to moderate southwest winds.

Friday will bring a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers, turning heavy later in the afternoon and evening across east and northeast counties. Highest temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees in light to moderate west to southwest winds.

Dry Friday night under broken cloud apart from isolated showers. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 15 degrees, coolest across western counties, all in light southeast or variable breezes.

Generally dry on Saturday with sunny spells but some scattered showers will occur too. Highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees with mostly light southerly breezes. Thundery bursts of rain will move in across the country during the night, though some areas will escape dry.

Expect thundery showers on Sunday, merging into longer spells of rain in places with spot flooding, local hail and lightning. Some warm spells of sunshine in parts too.
