Dry, mild weather to continue this week

Weather update from Met Éireann

A good deal of dry weather, with temperatures falling back slightly but still continuing close to or above normal for the time of year. That's the latest weather outlook from the national weather forecaster.

Dry in many places to begin today with sunny spells after some early mist patches. Cloud will build over much of Munster, south Leinster and south Connacht through the morning with showers developing, turning heavy at times with thunderstorms likely.

It'll continue dry with hazy spells of sunshine elsewhere. Highest temperatures of 18 to 24 degrees, warmest in the northwest, in light to moderate easterly breezes.

Further showers will move in tonight to affect the south of Leinster, Munster and South Connacht, some of which will be heavy or thundery. Mostly dry elsewhere with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees in mostly light east to northeast breezes.

Tomorrow will be a day of sunny spells and scattered showers, which could be heavy or thundery. The showers will be mainly in Munster or south Leinster with just a few stray ones elsewhere. Highest temperatures ranging from 18 to 22 degrees, with light to moderate easterly breezes.

Tuesday night: Largely dry with clear spells and just isolated showers. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees in light to moderate east to northeasterly breezes.

Wednesday and Thursday: Dry for most with a mix of cloud and sunny spells with just a few stray showers occurring. Highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees. Light to moderate east to northeast breezes on Wednesday will become light variable by Thursday.

Another largely dry day is expected on Friday with a few light showers possible in light west to northwest or variable breezes. Highs of 17 to 22 degrees, warmest in the southeast.

Current guidance suggests Saturday will be a little warmer overall with sunny spells and a few scattered showers as a light southerly breeze sets in.
