Mix of scattered blustery showers and sunny spells

Sunday will start off wet and rather windy with idespread rain is expected during the morning.

By late morning, a clearance is expected to develop, bringing a mix of scattered blustery showers and sunny spells. As the day progresses, winds will shift to a southwesterly direction and gradually ease, helping to improve conditions somewhat.

Despite the earlier rain, it will feel relatively mild, with highest temperatures ranging from 16 to 20 degrees.

Sunday night will see a continued easing of conditions for most areas. While some showers will persist, particularly along Atlantic coasts, the rest of the country will experience long clear spells.

Overnight temperatures will dip, turning noticeably cooler with lows of 6 to 10 degrees.

Monday then is forecast to begin generally dry and crisp, with some bright or sunny spells across the country with heavy showers expected to develop in Atlantic counties as the day goes on, with some of these moving further east later.

Temperatures will range from 14 to 18 degrees, in a moderate to occasionally fresh southwest wind.
