High pressure will continue to dominate conditions bringing settled and largely dry weather for the weekend and into next week. That's the latest update from the national weather forecaster.
Patchy drizzle and mist at times across west and northwest counties today, otherwise staying dry albeit cloudy. Some sunny spells will develop locally, the best of these across southwest counties. Highest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees, in light to moderate west to northwest breezes.
Little change tonight, overall dry outside of the odd spot of drizzle or mist, and fairly calm too. While cloudy skies will persist, clearer breaks will occur in parts too. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 11 degrees, in just light westerly or variable breezes.
Rather cloudy on Friday but dry apart from isolated drizzle across northern fringes. The best of any sunny spells will be in the South and East. Cooler with highest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees, in just light southwesterly or variable breezes.
Isolated patches of light drizzle in the north and west tomorrow night but otherwise dry with a mix of cloudy and clear periods. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees with light and variable winds.
Saturday is expected mainly dry with a mix of cloud and hazy spells of sunshine. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in light southerly winds.
Dry with a mix of cloud and clear spells overnight on Saturday. Mist and fog will develop in some areas as winds remain very light. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 9 degrees, mildest in Ulster.
Any areas of mist and fog will clear Sunday morning with some bright spells developing. Patchy light rain or drizzle may affect parts of Munster in the afternoon but otherwise it will be another largely dry day. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees with light easterly winds.
Sunday night is promised dry with mist and fog forming in light easterly winds. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees.
Mist and fog at first Monday, clearing through the morning. Cloudy with some patchy light rain or drizzle mainly in parts of the south and west. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in light easterly winds.
Further outlook: Staying settled with high pressure remaining nearby, although turning slightly cooler.
