Celebrating success at St Mogue’s

St Mogue’s College hosted a most successful Student Award Ceremony in the Slieve Russell Hotel last month, attended by in excess of 600 people. Special guests on the evening included Deputy Brendan Smith; Garron Noone, musician and comedian; Shauna Lynch, Cavan Ladies Captain; Tony & Lorraine Byrne; Cllr John Paul Feeley and many other distinguished guests.

The purpose of the event was to highlight achievement in the areas of academic, physical, social and personal development.

A perpetual cup was presented to the most outstanding Leaving Cert student of 2025 Fionan Donohoe; while the Junior Cycle student of the year was Magda Kwiecien.

The Luke Byrne Spirit of St Mogue’s Award is another significant accolade presented each year to a student who embodies the characteristics and ethos of the college. The 2025 recipient was Sarah Devine.

It was also a particularly successful year in sport with three teams - Senior Boys, Senior Girls and Junior Boys - all reaching Ulster finals. Students were honoured for their dedication and success in their chosen sport.

The event was enhanced by video presentations and music, making for a night to remember.
