Cookery demonstration for Cuan

The Created in Cavan Food and Drink Network will host Neven Maguire among other Cavan producers in the Hotel Kilmore this Wednesday evening to raise funds for Cuan.

A producer showcase will take place from 6.30pm to 8pm with seventeen Cavan businesses confirmed to display their produce on the night.

Those attending can immerse themselves in chatter while sampling what Cavan has to offer, meanwhile they can also purchase produce or pre-order for Christmas

Following this celebrity chef Neven Maguire, who approached the network on doing an event for a local charity, will give a cookery demonstration with four dishes incorporating some of the products on display earlier in the evening.

According to the LEO Food Strategy Co-Ordinator Dermot Gallagher, Neven will prepare "general dishes" and "stuff you would cook at home all the time" to inspire your everyday cooking with a Cavan twist.

All funds raised during the evening will go towards Cuan Cancer Support Services. So far, ticket sales are going well with 260 tickets sold.

"We're hoping in the next few days that it [the support] does continue," he said.

"It'll be a really enjoyable night, it's showcasing and supporting the local food and drink network, Created in Cavan. You're getting an idea of who the members are some of the great products that are out there.

"It's going to be enjoyable," he encouraged.

A raffle will also take place on the night where those entering have the chance to win vouchers for local hospitality business in Cavan.

Tickets for the event can be bought on eventbrite here, at The Hotel Kilmore or at Cuan Cancer Support Cavan. Walk-ins will also be accepted on the night.
