Dry and bright day ahead with sunny spells

Changeable with spells of rain, showers and some dry intervals. Turning milder too. That's the weather outlook for the coming days.
Dry and bright for many today, with sunny spells and isolated showers. However, cloud and rain will linger in the northeast for a time. Through the afternoon and evening, cloud will increase from the west with scattered showers gradually spreading eastwards, turning heavy at times with a chance of hail. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees in light to moderate southwesterly winds, fresher on Atlantic coasts.
Tonight, showers will ease for many leaving a mostly dry night with clear spells. However, showers will linger in the northwest for a time. Cloud will thicken from the southwest overnight with rain and drizzle moving into the southwest and west by morning. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 6 degrees, coolest in the north and east, with southerly winds increasing moderate to fresh through the night.
A wet and blustery day tomorrow, Friday, with rain extending northeastwards turning heavy in places. Southeasterly winds will increase strong and gusty with gales at times on exposed coasts. Scattered showers and some brighter spells will follow from the southwest through the afternoon and evening as winds ease moderate to fresh southwesterly. Some of the showers will be heavy. Highest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees, coolest in Ulster.
Staying rather cloudy Friday night with scattered showers or longer spells of rain. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees with mostly moderate southwesterly winds, freshening in the southwest later.
Saturday should be breezy for most with scattered showers in the morning and just limited sunny spells. The showers will ease in the afternoon with more in the way of sunny spells. Highest temperatures generally of 9 to 11 degrees with moderate to fresh westerly winds, increasing strong at times in the south.
Clear spells will give way Saturday night to cloud building from the southwest early on with rain spreading nationwide. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees with moderate to fresh southerly winds.
Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will largely clear northeastwards through Sunday morning leaving a mostly dry afternoon with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees with moderate westerly winds backing southwesterly.
Current indications show a largely dry start to Monday with sunny spells before cloud builds from the southwest and a further spell of rain moves in later in the day. Highest afternoon temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees with moderate southerly winds.
