O’Hanlon lands key Border role

Carrickmacross Fianna Fáil councillor P.J. O’Hanlon has been appointed Chair of the East Border Region (EBR), one of Europe’s longest-established local authority-led, cross-border groups.

His appointment comes as the EBR, founded in 1976, prepares to celebrate its Golden Jubilee.

Members of the Carrickmacross-Castleblayney Municipal District extended their congratulations to Cllr O’Hanlon during a meeting in Castleblayney earlier this week. The appointment was officially ratified at an EBR meeting earlier this month.
