Unsettled weather to continue
Weather update from Met Éireann
Continuing unsettled over the coming days with spells of wet and windy weather. We'll also see milder than average temperatures for the time of year. That's the latest outlook from the national weather forecaster.
Cloudy to start today (Thursday) with scattered showers or longer spells of rain moving northeastwards across the country. Drier and brighter spells will develop from the southwest later. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees, with moderate to fresh northwest winds, staying mainly light to moderate and variable in the northeast.
Becoming cloudy later in the night with outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading eastwards across the country. Lows of 1 to 6 degrees in light to moderate southerly winds freshening through the night.
Cloudy and wet tomorrow (Friday) with widespread rain, turning heavy at times. The rain will gradually clear eastwards through the morning, followed by sunny spells and scattered showers moving in from the west.
Cloud will increase again from the southwest through the afternoon with further outbreaks of rain, spreading northeastwards through the evening. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees in moderate to fresh, occasionally strong southwesterly winds.
Remaining cloudy overnight on Friday with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Drier conditions will develop over southern parts overnight. Windy with fresh to strong southwest winds. A mild night with lowest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees.
Saturday is expected another cloudy day with further outbreaks of rain, becoming more isolated towards the evening. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.
While a clearance will develop over the north for a time on Saturday night, elsewhere will remain cloudy with isolated showers, mostly in the north and west. Staying mild with over overnight temperatures not falling below 6 to 9 degrees in moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.
Bright and windy on Sunday with scattered showers feeding in from the west. Highest temperatures of 9 to12 degrees in a moderate to fresh southwesterly wind.
A mostly bright and dry start to Monday apart from the odd shower over parts of the west and north. Cloud will increase from the southwest early on with rain and drizzle spreading northeastwards, turning heavy at times. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees in fresh to strong southwesterly winds.
