Man (30s) charged over first cannabis seizure in Cavan

Man appeared at a special sitting of Trim District Court charged in connection with one of the cannabis seizures in Cavan

THE man arrested in connection with the first of two seizures of cannabis in Cavan on Friday has been charged.

The man, who is in his 30s, appeared at a special sitting of Trim District Court yesterday (Saturday) charged in connection with the first seizure of 6.25 kilos of cannabis in Cavan Town valued at approximately €125,000.

As part of a continuing investigation, the Cavan Drugs Unit searched an additional property in Cavan town also on Friday and discovered 7.8 kilograms of suspected cannabis with an estimated value of €156,000.

The total value of the two seizures is €281,000.
