Senator to discuss need for Cavan refuge
Sen O'Reilly FG will have five minutes to outline his concerns
Fine Gael Senator Joe O'Reilly will today call on the Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration to provide a long-awaited update on plans for a women’s refuge in Cavan, highlighting ongoing concerns about support for victims of domestic violence.
The issue is among the Commencement Matters selected by the Cathaoirleach for discussion in the Seanad Éireann at 2pm.
Sen O’Reilly is expected to stress the urgency of delivering safe accommodation for vulnerable women and children in the region, where services remain limited. Under Seanad procedures, he will have five minutes to outline his concerns, after which the Minister or a Minister of State will have five minutes to respond.
