Kathleen Tierney (nee Gumley), 15 Railway Road, Belturbet, Co. Cavan formerly Crossdoney Road, Ballinagh and Railway Road, Killeshandra. May 10th 2026, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Theresa, son Michael, brothers Patrick, Barney and Paul, sisters Bernie, Margaret, Theresa and Geraldine.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family, sons Martin, Thomas and Stephen. Sisters Roseann, Valerie and Jackie, brothers Thomas, Noel and Frank, grandchildren, brothers-in-law especially Brendan, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, especially Laura and James, relatives and friends.

Kathleen will be reposing at Lawlors Funeral Home, Ernehill, Belturbet (eircode H14 VP68) this Monday evening from 6pm until evening prayers at 8pm. Funeral mass at 11am on Tuesday morning in St. Felim's Church, Ballinagh with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Alice Keeley

(née Byrne)

Carnalogue, Louth Village, Louth / Ballina, Mayo / Carrickmacross, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Alice Keeley (née Byrne). 'San Pedro', Carnalogue, Louth Village and formerly Ballina, Co. Mayo & Sreenty, Corduff, Co. Monaghan. 10th May 2026. Peacefully, in the wonderful care of the management & staff of Moorehall Lodge Nursing Home, Ardee.

Predeceased by her husband Patrick, her parents Owen & Mary-Ann, her brothers Mickey, Jim, Gene & Pete and her sisters Agnes & Sr, Columba Mary.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by her beloved family; her sons John (Kate) & Joe (Alison), her much-loved grandchildren William & Matthew, her sister Irene Connolly and her brothers Pat & Tom, her sisters-in-law Elizabeth, Frances & Ronnie and her brother-in-law Sean, her nephews, nieces, relatives, friends & neighbours.

Alice will repose at Lonergan Funeral Directors Funeral Home, Carrickmacross, A81 D328, on Tuesday, 12th May, from 4pm until 7pm.

Alice’s funeral cortège will leave the Funeral Home on Wednesday, 13th May, proceeding to St. Michael’s Church, Corduff, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

Marie Farrell

(née Hyland)

Crom Abú, Old Armagh Road, Monaghan Town, Monaghan, H18A721 / Carlow Town, Carlow

Peacefully at Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Mick, her brothers Michael, Paddy, Brendan and Denny and her sisters Peggy and Imelda.

Sadly missed by her daughters Clare (Eddie), Mary, Edel and Carissa, her son Denis (Connie), her grandchildren Róisín, Lorcán, Tiarnán, Tom, Nóra, Frank, Fionn, Lulu, Cody, Patrick and Michael and her treasured great granddaughter Eowyn, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

May she rest in peace.

Reposing at her home on Monday (11/05/2026) from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Tuesday (12/05/2026) from 4 p.m. until removal at 6.30 p.m., arriving at St. Macartan’s Cathedral, Monaghan at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday (13/05/2026) at 11 a.m., followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 3 p.m.

The death has occurred of Rose Tierney, Kilcorran House, Kilcorran, Selloo, Smithboro, Co. Monaghan H18P963 peacefully at home in the loving care of her family.

May Rose's gentle soul rest in eternal peace

Predeceased by her Mother Ann, Father Frank, brothers Francis and Gerard.

A dearly loved sister of Martina (Martin McElvaney) and Denis (Angela) and a much loved and adored aunt of Daniel, Micheál, Cáelán, Cushla, Ania and Eoghan. A dear niece to her aunts Josie and Kathleen. Rose will be dearly missed by Annmarie and all her cousins, neighbours and large circle of family and friends.

Rose will repose at her home Monday (11th) and Tuesday (12th) from 2pm until 10pm. Family time at all other times please. Removal on Wednesday afternoon at 12:15pm to arrive at St Tierney’s Church, Roslea for funeral mass at 1pm. House private on Wednesday afternoon to family, close neighbours and friends. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

There will be a one-way system in place, Entrance via Mullindava and Exit via Smyth Transport, Rellan Road
