The death has occurred of Archie Drury Fartha, Tunnyduff, Bailieborough, Co.Cavan. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Archie who passed away peacefully at home Monday 25th May 2026 surrounded by his loving family in his 99th year.

Predeceased by his grandson baby Cecil, parents Archie and Sarah Jane, his brothers and sisters May, Joe, John, Charles, Harold, Cecil, Greta and Georgie.

Archie leaves behind Sylvia, his adored wife of 66 years. Sylvia a devoted wife to Archie, whose greatest act of love was the care and comfort she gave her husband in his final years. Archie will forever be remembered as a dedicated and devoted father to Geoffrey (Helen), Raymond (Ann) and Sharon (David), his adored grandchildren Steven, Natasha, Simon, Amy and Kyle. Sadly Missed by his nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, family circle, neighbours and many friends.

Declan (Woz) Brady, Pollakeel, Mountnugent, Co. Cavan. Monday, May 25th (peacefully) at his home surrounded by his loving wife Audrey and son Conor.

Predeceased by his Aunt's; Aggie and Eileen. Declan will be sadly missed by his wife, son, parents; John and Tess, auntie Breda, brothers and sisters; Caroline, Sean, Louise, Imelda, Claire, Martin, Dermot, Bridget, Ricky and their partners, nieces, nephews, The Bray Family, relatives, friends, neighbours and work colleagues. A special thanks to his close friends; Sid, Niall, Sean and Colm.

Reposing at Briody's Funeral Home, Kilnaleck A82 DX59 on Tuesday 26th from 5pm to 8pm (At the request of the Family there will be no hand shaking please. The Family will take a 10 minute break at 6.30pm). Funeral Mass on Wednesday 27th in St. Brigid's Church, Mountnugent at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Ballinacree Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to The Moylagh JFK CAR c/o Briody's Funeral Home.

Margaret Hawthorne “nee Lymburn”

The death has taken place of Margaret Hawthorn, Arva, Co Cavan originally from Castleblaney, Co Monaghan, Sunday 24th May, peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of Oakview Nursing Home, Belturbet. Sadly missed by her loving family and friends.

Funeral prayers will take place in Lawlors Funeral Home Ernehill, Belturbet, Co. Cavan (Eircode H14 R583) on Thursday afternoon at 2pm with burial afterwards in Saint Maeldoid’s Churchyard, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan (Eircode A75 XH52).

Michael Kenna, 29 Annagh Park, Belturbet, Co. Cavan, 24th May 2026, following an accident. Predeceased by his mother Marian.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, his son M.J., father Joe, sister Geraldine, brother-in-law Anthony, nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives and friends.

Michael will be reposing at Lawlors Funeral Home, Ernehill, Belturbet, Co. Cavan (Eircode H14 R583) on Wednesday evening at 5.30pm until evening prayers at 7.00pm. Funeral mass at 11am on Thursday morning in the Church of Immaculate Conception, Belturbet with burial afterwards in Drumalee cemetery.

The death has occurred of Rita (Marita) McAuliffe (née McKitterick), Tiragarvan, Carrickmacross, and formerly of Shanco, Corduff, Co. Monaghan, peacefully in her 94th year, surrounded by her loving family in the exceptional care at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, Monday 25th May 2026. Predeceased by her husband Maurice, parents Phillip and Bridget, brothers Danny and Tom. Deeply regretted by her son Maurice (Sheila), daughters Lynda (Hugh) and Nuala, grandchildren Chanel, Aoife, Hugh and Sean, sister-in-law Anne, cousin, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Deery’s Funeral Home, Carrickmacross A81 C653 on Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm. Removal on Wednesday morning to St. Michael’s Church, Corduff, A81 X312 arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in adjoining new Cemetery.
