48 athletes head to Ireland Games

Cavan's Breffni Blues are sending 27 Athletes and 7 Chaperones to Dublin. The Special Olympics Ireland Summer Games take place in Dublin from June 18 to 21. The four day event is the island's largest inclusive sporting event, bringing together over 1,200 athletes from all over Ireland.

Carrickmacross Cathaoirleach Mr O’Hanlon, CEO Mr Burns, and Communications Officer Joanne Arnold met with athletes from Monaghan Special Olympics Sports Club.

Meanwhile, Monaghan Special Olympics are sending 21 athletes. Chairperson Margaret McElroy wishes the athletes that are representing Ulster at the Games every success.

The local Cathaoirleach and CEO expressed their pride in the athletes’ achievements to date and wished them every joy and success in their competitions. They also acknowledged the honour the athletes bring to County Monaghan through their dedication, commitment, and representation. Special praise was given to the coaches and volunteers for their tireless work and ongoing support.
