It is with regret that we report the following deaths in Counties Cavan and Monaghan, as recorded on RIP.ie within the past 24 hours.

Edward Nyazika

Castlemanor Retirement Village, Cavan Town, Cavan

The death has occurred of Edward Nyazika, originally from Mutare, Zimbabwe, formerly of Castlemanor Retirement Village, Drumalee, Co. Cavan, who died peacefully on Tuesday, 11th August 2026, in the loving care of his family.

Predeceased by his mother Hariret, his father Evison Kombedzai, sons Morris and Morton, cherished husband to Delia, and beloved father to Sheila, Morgan, Ruth, Memory, Nyasha, Marvelous, Norman, Norah and adopted daughter Mufundisi Sarudzai Faith, he will be deeply missed by his nephews, nieces, sons in law, daughters in law, grand children, great grand children.

Edward will be sadly missed by his brother Amon (Forgiveness) Sam (Vicky), and sister Alice (Abisha) his many nieces, nephews, cousins, his extended family, and many friends from the Methodist Church, the C3 Local Link and Cavan Men's Shed. So loved by his family, relatives, neighbours and all who knew him.

May his kind and gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Funeral service on Wednesday, 19th August, at 1pm in Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan, followed by burial at Annagh Cemetery.

Sean Boyle

Inniskeen, Monaghan, A91 R791 / Inniskeen, Louth

The death has occurred of Sean Boyle, Carrickakelly, Inniskeen, on 13th August 2026, peacefully in the tender care of the doctors and nursing staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, surrounded by his loving family.

Much-loved son of the late Pat and Betty (née Meegan) Boyle, Knock, Inniskeen. Sean, husband of Margaret, predeceased by his son Joseph, brother Eoin and sister Marie. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son Patrick (PJ), daughter-in-law Ruth, grandchildren Éanna and Conn, brother Pat, sisters Veronica, Winifred, Gertie, Rosaleen and Patricia, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend a special word of thanks to Triona Boyle, Thomas and the late Eileen McGee for their dedicated care and kindness.

Reposing at his home, Carrickakelly, Inniskeen, A91 R791, from 2pm until 9pm tomorrow, Friday 14th August.

Removal on Saturday 15th August at 10.30am to the Church of Mary Mother of Mercy, Inniskeen, arriving for 11am for Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in St. Mary's Cemetery, Inniskeen.
