Maisie Cusack (née Smith), Killavalley, Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan and formally of Knockateggart, Cliferna, passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side, in the wonderful care of the staff at Cavan General Hospital on 30th August, 2026.
Predeceased by her loving husband John, parents Patrick and Marian, brothers Gene and Michael, sisters Babs, Peggy and Susan. She will be forever missed by her loving son Eugene, daughters Ann-Marie and Jacqueline, son-in-law Pearse, daughter-in-law Mary, her sister Monica, brothers Frank and Brian, grandchildren Hannah, John, P.J, Dearbhla and Cillian, her extended family and her many friends and neighbours.

Reposing at home in Killavalley, Ballyjamesduff (A82 C640) on Tuesday 1st of September from 5pm to 8pm.
House private outside of this time apart from family.
Private removal from house for Requiem Mass in St. Joseph's, Ballyjamesduff on Wednesday at 12pm followed by burial in the old cemetery on the Oldcastle Road.

Monsignor Aiden Foynes
Butlersbridge, Cavan
The death has occurred of Monsignor Aiden Foynes, aged 90, a retired priest of the Diocese of Saint Petersburg, who passed away in the Lord on Thursday, 20th August 2026, following a recent decline in health, shortly after his return from a trip to his native Ireland, where he visited many beloved friends and family members. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Ellen and his seven siblings, Lizzie Condell, Sarah, Patrick, Mick, Willie, Eileen Greenan and Bridgid Lloyd. He will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Lori Foynes, 14 nieces and nephews, many dear friends and members of the Christian faithful whose lives he touched over the years.

Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, 4th September 2026, at 11am (U.S. time) in St. Cecelia Catholic Church, Clearwater.

Peggy (nee Fay) Nevin, 101 Drumnaveil, Cootehill, Co. Cavan and recently Blackwater House, St Davnet’s Monaghan August 31st 2026 peacefully at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Remembered with love and sadly missed by her loving family, sons Christopher, Tony, Aidan (Tracy) and Joseph, daughters Teresa (Shahzad) and Mary, brother Aidan, grandchildren Sarah, Sean, Safiyya, Malik, Ayesha and Khadijah, great grandchild Noah, her children’s father Anthony, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Thomas (Tom) Reilly, Finternagh, Bailieborough, Co Cavan died on the 31st August 2026 peacefully, at The Mater Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents James and Annie, brothers Chaddy, Jim and Peter and sisters Peggy and Rose.
Forever loved and missed by his loving wife and best friend Mary Frances, daughters Carol (Adrian), Frances (Derek), Dolores (Paul) and son Martin (Nicola), his cherished grandchildren Justin, Connor, Dillon and Tomás also Amarachi, Junior, Nnenna and Adaugo. Brother Owen, sister Aggie, nieces, nephews, relatives and many great friends.

Sr M. Mechtilde (Margaret) Robinson, Medical Missionaries of Mary, Drogheda, Co. Louth and formerly from Ballinagh, Co. Cavan, England, Nigeria, Tanzania and Angola on the 30th August 2026, peacefully in Aras Mhuire Nursing Home, Drogheda. Predeceased by her parents, Charles and Elizabeth, her brother Seamus and her sister Maureen. Sadly missed by her sister Bernadette (Kent), her brother Cathal (San Francisco), her brother-in-law Charles, her sisters-in-law Noreen and Monica, her nieces and nephews, their families, relatives and friends, and her MMM Community.

Martha will repose at the Oratory in Castleross Retirement Village on Tuesday, 1st September, from 3:00pm until 7:00pm. Her funeral cortege will leave on Wednesday, 2nd September, arriving at St Mary’s Church, Castleblayney, for Requiem Mass at 11:00am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
