Ballybars and Knockbride went head to head in the division one minor final at Lacken on Saturday afternoon with more than silverware at stake as the winners would also secure a place in the Ulster championship.

Ballybars, an amalgamation of neighbours St Finbarr’s and Ballyhaise, were back in the decider having suffered defeat in last year’s final and were determined to go one step further this time around.

Standing in their way was an exciting Knockbride side who have emerged as one of the up and coming forces at underage level.

Knockbride’s Ellie Reilly & Aoibihinn Smith double up on Ballybar’s Sienna Dempsey.

Knockbride had already made a statement by defeating reigning champions Mullahoran in the semi-final, setting up an intriguing contest against a Ballybars outfit with plenty of motivation of their own.
