Wet start to the day with outbreaks of rain

Weather update from Met Éireann.

A wet start this morning with outbreaks of rain, heavy and possibly thundery in places, with the chance of localised flooding. A clearance to sunny spells and scattered showers will follow later in the morning and early afternoon. A few of the showers will be heavy. Winds will be mostly moderate to fresh and gusty south to southeast at first, strong near eastern coasts, becoming moderate to fresh westerly as the rain clears, increasing strong at times in western and northern coastal parts in the afternoon, before easing in the evening. Highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees.

Tonight will bring a good deal of dry weather with clear spells, though with some scattered showers, mainly further west. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees with winds becoming mostly light southerly, moderate near the west coast.

Tomorrow, Monday, will be mostly dry and bright with long spells of sunshine, turning hazy at times and with just a few isolated showers. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in mostly light to moderate southerly winds, backing southeasterly.
