Bus Éireann advises passengers to check updates as Storm Austen approaches

Bus Éireann is urging passengers to monitor service updates over the coming days as Storm Austen is set to bring strong winds and heavy rain across Ireland.

The national bus operator said all services are currently scheduled to run as normal, but weather conditions could lead to disruption in some areas.

Chief Customer Officer Allen Parker said Met Éireann is forecasting challenging driving conditions from Thursday evening and throughout the weekend, with warnings also in place regarding potential flooding, road debris and fallen trees.

"All Bus Éireann services are scheduled to operate as normal. However, if any are impacted by the stormy weather, we will post details online as quickly as possible to keep our customers informed," he said.

Mr Parker advised passengers to check for updates before travelling.

"The best approach would be to check service updates on our website before leaving home, to minimise any potential disruption," he added.
