Warm weather to build this week

The Azores High will build this week with warm and settled weather to come. Becoming very warm or even hot from Thursday.

A dry day for most on Monday with rather warm spells of sunshine, though it will be cooler and cloudier across west Connacht and Ulster with patchy rain or showers. Breezy in a fairly fresh northwest wind. Highest temperatures of 14 to 23 degrees warmest across southeast and east areas.

Similarly, tonight will bring a little patchy rain or drizzle to west and northwest areas. Dry for most however with clear spells across southern and eastern counties. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees a in light to moderate northwest to west wind.

Tuesday will be will be humid with patchy outbreaks of drizzle. Warm spells of sunshine will occur too though, especially across Munster and the south midlands. Humid with highest temperatures of 17 to 24 degrees in light to moderate west to northwest winds.

Patchy drizzle will affect west and northwest counties overnight on Tuesday but otherwise the night will be dry under broken cloud. Mild with lowest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees in just light westerly breezes.

Dry on Wednesday, apart from isolated light showers across western and northern areas. Generally cloudy, though sunshine will break through in places with the best chance of this across east and southeast areas; warmest in these areas too. Highest temperatures of 17 to 24 degrees, in just light westerly breezes.

Thursday is expected a dry day for most with warm spells of sunshine, though possibly staying cloudy across north and northwest areas with the chance of a few showers. Top temperatures of 21 to 26 degrees in just light southwest or variable breezes.

A very warm or hot Continental airmass looks likely to feed up across Ireland on Friday with sunny conditions occurring widely. Top temperatures of 22 to 28 degrees generally in just light southerly breezes.

This weekend: Some uncertainty but with the potential for widespread hot sunny weather to stick around.
