Agent urges people with derelict property to consider grants

James Spring of REA Donohoe Spring reflects on a busy year and wishes all property vendors and buyers a happy Christmas with hopes that 2026 is “a good year for all”.

“From our own standpoint 2025 has been a very busy year and has just flown by,” the auctioneer told the Celt.

“There have been the usual challenges but, overall, we have delivered well for all our clients while treating bidders and tenants fairly and with respect.”

The agent reports that REA Donohoe Spring has had a good supply of houses to both buy and rent in a year where demand for both “has been high”.

Speaking to the customers who have been with REA Donohoe Spring in the past year and will be with them going into 2026, Mr Spring expressed how the Ballyconnell agents are “grateful” to “all those who have supported us by trusting us with their sales, rentals and valuations” and he promised to continue to provide an honest and open approach to estate agency through 2026 and beyond.

“We are very positive about the year ahead,” he added.

Mr Spring also took the opportunity at this special time of year to say how proud he and his colleagues are to be “part of the community” of Ballyconnell, which he considers “a great and thriving town”.

Looking ahead, he said: “It would be great to see more investment in the increasing housing stock in 2026” and he urged people with run-down or derelict property to look into the grants available to bring unused properties back into use.”

Signing off for 2025, Mr Spring simply said “thank you” to his customers from Mary, Olivia and himself.
