More sunny spells and scattered showers

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle in the west. Staying mostly dry further east until the afternoon. Rain will turn more persistent over west and northwest counties through the evening. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in light to moderate southwest winds, strong on Atlantic coasts.

Remaining cloudy overnight with rain and drizzle, turning persistent at times. Patches of mist and fog may form through the night. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees in moderate west to southwest winds.

Wet and misty to start with outbreaks of rain clearing southeastwards. Sunny spells with scattered showers will develop early on from the northwest and extend across the country through the afternoon becoming more isolated by evening. It will be breezy with moderate to fresh west to northwest winds. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees.

Friday night: Generally dry and clear with coastal showers affecting Atlantic regions, turning wintry at times, with the chance of sleet. Rather chilly with overnight lows of 0 to 4 degrees in moderate northwest winds. Frost and icy stretches may form in places overnight.

Remaining mixed throughout the weekend with scattered showers and sunny spells. Night time will be chilly with frost and icy stretches developing in places, particularly under any clear skies.

A bright and crisp day on Saturday with sunny spells and scattered showers across the country, turning wintry at times in the northwest. Cloud will start to increase from the west through the afternoon, with showers becoming more isolated. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees, but feeling cooler in moderate to fresh northwest winds, strong on coasts.

Cloud will continue to spread from the west overnight, with eastern parts remaining clear at first. Generally dry but rain and drizzle will move in from the northwest towards morning. Overnight temperatures of 2 to 7 degrees, mildest further west. Moderate west to northwest winds, stronger on Atlantic coasts.

Sunday is forecast to be wet and blustery with widespread rain and drizzle, heavy at times in the north and west. A clearance from the northwest will develop early on with sunny spells and isolated showers. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in strong and gusty southwest winds veering westerly later.

Rather overcast on Monday with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in light to moderate northwesterly winds.

Another cloudy day in store for Tuesday with light rain and drizzle. Mild with highest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees in moderate westerly winds, stronger on northwest coasts.

High pressure will move in over the country on Wednesday for a time bringing a brief spell of settled weather. However, conditions will turn more unsettled from Thursday as high pressure moves east, giving way to further spells of rain and showers feeding in from the Atlantic.
