Rain brings risk of localised flooding
Sunday brings a notable deterioration in conditions across Cavan and Monaghan with a band of heavier rain expected to spread across the region during the morning, before becoming persistent through much of the day.
There is a risk of flooding particularly in low-lying or poorly drained areas, as rainfall may be prolonged at times. Winds will strengthen, with gusty southerly to southwesterly winds making it feel colder than the actual temperatures of 9°C to 12°C.
Skies will remain overcast throughout, with little chance of sunshine. Travel conditions could be affected by surface water and reduced visibility during heavier bursts of rain.
By evening, the rain may begin to ease and clear southwards, leaving behind a damp but calmer night.
