Tell us about your business and team:

Expert Marron Electrical is a family business opened by Bernard Marron in 1994. Bernard, a lifetime in the trade, was joined him by his son Brian in 2010 with his other son Peter getting involved not long after. The domestic electrical appliance and TV retailer endeavours to provide the best experience for the customer from the shop floor to their home and serves a vast amount of people across Monaghan.

Describe the best thing about your service:

“You don’t get a lot of rewards in retail. It’s long hours, long nights, but it’s nice to get something back. So we really appreciate the nomination,” says Brian. “At Expert Marron Electical, we treat customers with a personal and friendly manner that we feel they won’t get anywhere else. The best part of our service is we have a strong connection with the local community, building relationships with everyone that comes in the door.”

What’s the best business advice you’ve ever been given?

The main thing my dad taught me was that you will go nowhere in this trade without caring for the customer. We’re a standalone shop, we don’t have a website. If we don’t care for the customer coming through the door, we don’t get a wage. It’s as simple as that.

What does the future hold for your business?

To grow and strengthen our position as the first-choice electrical retailer in Carrickmacross and surrounding areas.
