Man 90s dies near Ballinamore

A man in his 90s has died following a workplace accident which occurred at a farm site near the Cavan-Leitrim border.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at Aughawillian, Garadice, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim, at approximately 4.40pm on Tuesday afternoon, August 11, where a man aged in his 90s sustained fatal injuries in the incident.

His body has since been removed from the scene and taken to the mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will take place.

A spokesperson for An Garda Siochána confirmed that a a file will now be prepared for the Coroner’s Court, with enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident continuing.
