Thousands hit by Vodafone broadband outage across Cavan and Monaghan
No explaination yet provided by communications company
Thousands of Vodafone customers across Cavan, Monaghan and other parts of Ireland are experiencing broadband problems this evening, with reports of widespread service disruption affecting homes and businesses in several counties.
Vodafone confirmed it is currently experiencing service interruptions affecting its broadband network, saying its teams are working to restore services as quickly as possible.
The company has apologised to customers for the disruption.
Reports of problems have been recorded in Cavan and Monaghan, as well as in counties including Dublin, Meath, Limerick, Wexford, Galway and Donegal.
Outage-monitoring services have shown a sharp increase in reports, suggesting the issue is affecting customers across multiple regions rather than being confined to an individual local exchange or household.
The scale of the disruption became apparent on Saturday afternoon, with outage reports rising rapidly after approximately 3pm. Vodfone customers have reported being unable to access the internet.
At present, Vodafone has not publicly provided a detailed explanation for the cause of the outage or a confirmed restoration time.
Customers can meanwhile monitor Vodafone's official service updates for further information.
