Politicians urged to oppose teacher
The INTO fear that as many as eight teachers could lose their jobs in Co Cavan if the government should decide to increase the pupil/teacher ratio as a cost cutting measure in the forthcoming budget. Fidelma Sheridan, INTO branch secretary, has appealed to local politicians, especially those in the government parties, to do everything to dissuade the Minister for Education, Mr Ruairi Quinn, from going down this route.
