€120m into Cavan economy over three years
An estimated €120 million will be spent in the local economy over the life of the three All-Ireland Fleadhs and will have incalculable benefits for the county in tourism promotion terms, stated the chairman of Cavan County Council, Sean McKiernan, at Monday's meeting of the council. It was revealed that 294,000 visitors were in Cavan and adjacent towns for the 2011 All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil last August and priceless publicity was obtained as a result of the eight-day event being covered by leading television and radio networks as well as by national and international print media.
