Fr. Vincent Brady

Rocklin, California, Arva, Cavan

Fr. Vincent Brady, Retired Pastor, Rocklin, California, native of Gurteen, Arva, County Cavan, died on January 19th 2023, suddenly, but peacefully at his home in Rocklin, California. Deeply regretted by his Bishop, brother priests, former parishoners, and many good friends.

Predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Kate, his brother Paddy and his wife Lily, his sister Beesie McCarthy and her husband Mick, his brother Philip and his wife Marie, his brothers Fr. Charlie, Thomas, and Gerard, his brother in law John Conefrey, nephews Gerard Brady and Aiden Conefrey.

Fr Vincent will be sadly missed by his sister Kathleen Conefrey (Cammagh, Moyne) brothers, James and his wife Madeline (Portarlington), John Joe and his wife Margaret (Gurteen), Donal and his wife Mary (Longford), sisters in law Angela and Maureen, his much loved nieces and nephews and his grand nieces and nephews.

Fr. Vincent’s Funeral will take place in California.

A Memorial Mass to celebrate his life will take place at a later date.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family his parents Paddy & Lisa, Brothers Oisín, Tiarnach, Pádraig and Sister Aoibhínn, Grandparents Brendan & Geraldine Sheridan, and Ollie and Bridie Connolly, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Relatives and Friends.

Paul (Patrick) Lee, Bruskey, Carrigan, Co. Cavan, Monday, January 23rd, peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff of Cavan General Hospital. Beloved husband of Sylvia, loving father of Philip, Jean, David & Joseph. Predeceased by his parents Paddy & Nancy, his sister Bridgid, and his brother, Peter. Sadly missed by his wife, children, his sisters Dympna, Catherine and Ann, his brothers Tully, Tommy and Martin, his daughters-in-law Nancy, Bridgid & Clare, his grandchildren, nephews & nieces, friends and family.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan, on Wednesday evening from 6.00pm until 8.00pm. Cremation service in Lakelands Crematorium on Thursday at 12pm. Ardlo Manor, Mullagh, Cavan / Baldoyle, Dublin / Meath

Suddenly, at his home aged 44 years. Predeceased by his loving parents David and Rita. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his heartbroken family, his adored children Kyle, Nicole and Jayden, his beloved siblings, Linda Branagan (Carlanstown), Damien (Navan) and Aidan (Kilnaleck), sisters in law Karen and Olivia, brother in law Peter, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and many friends.

Reposing on Tuesday evening at The Village Chapel of Rest, Mullagh, A82DE28 from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will take place on Wednesday at 11.30am in St. Kilian's Church, Mullagh, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Tommy (Dickie) Smith

Tommy (Dickie) Smith, 8 Fairview, Cavan. January 23rd 2023 peacefully at home in the loving care of his family. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Rosaleen and devoted Father of Sandra, Thomas, Jimmy and Lorraine. Tommy will be very sadly missed and dearly loved by his family, daughter in law, Sharon, adored grandchildren Rebecca, Charlie, Alanna, Jack, Thomas, Paul Adrian, Kara and Kalum, his great-grandchildren Oscar, Amber, Sienna, Oliver, Molly, Bobby and Nancie, brother Gene, Ballyconnell, nephews, nieces, all his family circle, neighbours, and many, many friends.

Reposing at his home in Fairview (H12 X252) on Tuesday evening from 2pm until 8pm. Please be mindful that Covid 19 is still very much with us and to exercise care and keep each other safe. Removal leaving the house on Wednesday morning at 10.30am and travelling to the Cathedral of Ss Patrick & Felim, Cavan for Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass the cortège will travel to Cullies Cemetery for committal prayers and burial in the family plot.

No flowers please, donations in lieu would be appreciated to the oncology unit, Cavan and Palliative care, Cavan in care of McMahon Funeral Directors, any family member or donation box in the Cathedral. House private to family on Wednesday morning, please.

Carmel BATTERSBY (née McCaul)

Palmerstown, Dublin / Castleblayney, Monaghan

BATTERSBY (nee McCaul) (Palmerstown, Dublin and formerly of Bawn, Castleblaney, Co. Monaghan) January 21st. 2023 (Peacefully) surrounded by her family and in the care of the staff at Ryevale Nursing Home, Leixlip. Carmel, beloved wife of the late Vincent, dear mother of Dermot, Fergus, Vincent Jnr., Cormac, Manus, Gemma, Sabina and Sinead, devoted grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister of the late Gerald. Sadly missed by her loving family, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her home on Tuesday evening from 6pm to 8pm. Removal to the Church of Our Lady’s Nativity, Leixlip on Wednesday morning (25th January) arriving for Requiem Mass at 11.00 am followed by burial in Rooske Cemetery, Dunboyne. The death has occurred of John Corrigan, 112 O'Neill Park, Clones, Co. Monaghan and Navan, Co Meath, Monday 23rd January 2023, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Bridget and Pat, his sister Phyllis Monk (Drogheda) and his brother Frank Corrigan (Cork). Beloved and much loved brother of Angela Corrigan (Carrickmacross), Padraig Corrigan(Eileen, Castlebar) and Noeleen (Richard Mc Caffrey, Clones). John will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his sisters, brother, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, extended family, neighbours, many friends and by all who knew and loved John.

The death has occurred of Eamon McAleer, Knocknamaddy, Ballybay, Co. Monaghan, Sunday, January 22nd, suddenly at his residence. Predeceased by his parents Francis and Mary, sisters Stella and Rita, parents in-law Eliseo and Cecilia and brothers in-law Cirilo and Reynaldo. Eamon, deeply regretted and remembered with love by his wife Analisa, children Annie Grace and Elfran, sister Susan, brothers in-law Richard, Theodoro and Vidal, sister in-law Nicet, niece Eimear and nephews Conor and Shane, extended family, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

The death has occurred of Edward (Eddie) O'Neill. Mullinary Road, Carrickmacross. 23rd January 2023. Peacefully, surrounded by his cherished family, at St. Vincent's Private Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by his parents Eddie & Margaret and his sister Philomena Callan.

Deeply missed and remembered with love by his beloved family, his loving wife Eileen, his children, Siobhán Goulding, David, Laraine Winters & Celine Garvey, his sons-in-law Donagh, Brian & Ciarán and his daughter-in-law Caitriona, his much-loved grandchildren Tom, Ben, Kaitlin, Sophie, Faye & Ruadhán, his sister Josephine Meegan, his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives & friends.

Eddie's funeral cortège will leave his home on Wednesday, 25th January, proceeding on foot via 'Callan's of the Bridge', arriving to St. Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross, for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by Cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 2pm.

Monaghan) January 21st 2023 (peacefully) surrounded by her family and in the loving care of the staff at Tallaght Hospital. Catherine, beloved wife of Martin, dear mother of Gerard, Teresa, Paul and Neil and a devoted grandmother to Hannah, Conor, Cian, Jack, Eoin, Emily, Kirsten, Keeva, James and Darragh. Predeceased by her mother Mary-Anne, father Pat and brother Peter and sisters Margaret and Bridgie. Sadly missed by her loving family, sister Anne, son-in-law Martin, daughters-in-law Charlotte and Sarah, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Martin Thornton

16 Belgian Square, Monaghan Town, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Martin Thornton, 16 Belgian Square, Monaghan. Monday 23rd January, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, after a long illness bravely bourne, surrounded by his his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Eugene & Mary, his grandson Cormac, his sister Bernadette and his brothers Carten & Patsy. Lovingly remembered by his wife Theresa, daughters Karen (Adrian Doyle) and Denise (Shane Connolly), grandchildren Ava, Katie, Ryan & Sophie. Brothers Brendan, Eugene, Enda & Barry, sister Maureen, sisters in law, brothers in law and wide circle of family and friends.

Martin's remains will repose at his residence, house strictly private at all times please. Martin's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 11am at St. Macartan's Cathedral, followed by burial in Latlurcan Cemetery.
