Pining for CO Club's return

After an unscheduled break last month CO Club is back in Oldcastle again this Friday to kick your weekend off in style with a heady mix of music, poetry and even a spot of woodturning!
Pine The Pilcrow released their critically acclaimed debut EP in March and are making big waves in the Irish music scene. The piano, cello and violin three-piece have received early reviews describing their music as “stunning”, “cinematic” and “atmospheric, melodic gold”.
Recently nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2016 Pure M awards and playing a record breaking four stages at this year’s Electric Picnic, things are looking bright for this Dublin based folk trio.
Robert John Ardiff is best known for his work as part of the band Come On Live Long. However, during a quiet period for the band, he decided to write and record his own solo material. The songs were recorded during a single session at a Parisian church in May 2015. Three of these tracks became the basis of Robert’s debut EP, ‘The Fall’, released in February 2016. He is currently working on a follow up release due out in September.
Natasha Helen Crudden is a punk-influenced poet and guitarist, photographer and author of poetry collection Barbed-Wire Cage and novel Empire Evolution. Detonation Day, her punk-poetry CD, was launched in July 2016, and her current projects include a second collection of poetry, Fusebox 50, and her second novel, a punk-rock rollercoaster entitled The Katzenjammer Chronicles.
What about the woodturning you ask? Seamus Cassidy, a native of County Meath has been a professional woodturner since 1996. The richness and quality of his work, the innovative design in both his turning and furniture pieces undeniably cry master craftsmanship. The finish on all pieces is exquisite.

CO Club takes place with host Ollie Burns on Friday, August 26, 9.30pm in Crean’s Bar Oldcastle, and admission is free.
