This August bank holiday in Oldcastle, the Cavan Invasion takes full flight with the Strypes, Aine Cahill & Travis Oaks leading the line ups at the 19th year of the Le Cheile Arts & Music Festival !

Starting on Thursday 28th of July and running through to Monday Aug 1st, this year’s Festival is the largest in its history.
As we draw closer to the Festival weekend, lots of new events and acts have been added as well as some new and exciting events including a little flavour of the ongoing Tour De France, with the inaugural Oldcastle Grand Prix.

On Sunday 31st of July, the streets and locality of Oldcastle will be full of eager cyclists all competing to win their category as TC Racing, in conjunction with Le Cheile 2016, host a massive day of road racing.

With races for all ages and abilities, there will be circuits of 100km, 80km, and 60km in Mens, Ladies and Junior races. Categories include A1, A2, A3 (junior) and A4 and the races will cover laps of a challenging yet picturesque loop of Oldcastle and the locality. Sign up will take place between 10:30am and 12:30pm beside the Oldcastle Playground at the Couch Youth Club and be organised by race managers, and local Cycling club TC Racing.There will be entertainment all day on the Square as part of the Family Day activities.

As well as the Grand Prix, Family Day will bring a host of activities to the streets of Oldcastle, with Music, Facepainting, Arts and Crafts, Samba Drumming Workshops, Song and Dance classes, and a whole lot more, including an Art Installation from the local Resource Centre, Witches Hill, who will also be running a Murder Mystery show entitled ‘Fashion Victim’.

Even more great acts have been added to an already huge line-up consisting of  The Strypes, The Academic, Big Generator, Robert Mizzell, Travis Oaks, Aine Cahill, and The Pat McManus Band.
These exciting new additions include The Last Kings, Emma Lou and the Agenda, Elevation Falls, Blackbird & Crow, Rollin Empire, Wrong Side, Wolves of Youth, Young Earth, The Plan, Chelsea Nolan, Barry Jay Hughes, Sean McComish, Crojayn, and the hugely talented Brendan Tiernan
