DINNER DANCE

What: St Patrick’s Arva GAA Club will hold their Dinner Dance and Presentation of the Intermediate Championship medals this Saturday, February 4, in the Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva. Those attending are asked to be in the hotel at 7.30pm for a drink reception and the meal will start at 8pm sharp. The medals will be presented by Kerry legend Tomás Ó Sé and is sure to be a fantastic night. Music will be supplied by Night Fever. There may be a few tickets left if anyone wishes to check in Arva Post Office.

What: Aghaloora/Bruskey Development Association are holding a social night in Lovett's Kilnaleck this Saturday, February 4. The night will see the presentation of a cheque to charity SOFT, proceeds of 5K walk raised during festival 2016. Music will be supplied by local group, The Heartones, and finger food will be served, so for a great night of entertainment come along on Friday night.

COMMEMORATION

Where: St Mary's Church Granard, Co Longford
When: Sunday February 5
What: The annual Clonfin Commemoration Ceremony will be held on Sunday next 5th February commencing with Mass for all deceased members in St. Mary's Church Granard at 11.30 am. The commemoration ceremony will take place on the site at 3.00pm.This year's guest speaker is Mr. David Leahy who is a well known Longford Historian who has contributed hugely to Longford's Historical Records. On this occasion his address will deal with the story of Thomas Ashe who died 100 years ago this year.

What: Dancing lessons held every Tuesday night, at 7.30pm in Kilbrackan Arms Hotel.

50TH COMMEMORATION

Where: Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva
When: Saturday February 25
What: St. Mary's GAA will honour the football heroes of the past when they will have a 50th Anniversary Celebration in the Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva on Saturday the 25th February to celebrate the Senior Championship wins in 1966 and 1967. The club has invited the players and officials involved on these teams at that time to Arva on the night. The celebrations will consist of a meal, a presentation and live music. Tickets costing €30 each are on sale from any Executive member of the club.
