It’s Friesian out tonight

The Breffni Oriel Holstein Friesian Club hold their 41st annual dinner-dance tonight (Friday, November 22) in the Cavan Crystal Hotel.
The dinner will be served at 8.15pm and music will be provided by Phil and Cossie. There are also spot prizes galore and tickets are €30.
Frank Walls, who is a member of the club, said the aim of the organisation is to breed, look after and show quality Holstein Friesian cattle.
“It’s an excellent organisation that does a lot for charity and also trains young people who are interested in farming how to trim and prepare animals for showing and how to lead cattle.
“They are also giving information on the management and how to improve the breeding of the cattle.
“The Holstein Friesians are very valuable stock and there are a lot of Irish bloodlines all around the world, he said.
The group has about 300 members in the club from all over Cavan and Monaghan.
