Controversial Tesco supermarket decision delayed

A decision on whether or not Tesco should be allowed to construct a controversial new 50,000 sq ft store in the Townparks and Tullacmongan area of Cavan town has been delayed after Cavan Town Council sought further information from the retail giant on its plans.
The local authority was due to adjudicate on the planning application on Monday of this week but has now sought additional details from the applicant, Tesco Ireland.
