Massive boost for Gallagher in race

As the Presidential race enters its final two weeks it is shaping up to be a cliff hanger with Ballyhaise man, Sean Gallagher, being the big surprise coming second to front runner Michael D, Higgins and marginally ahead of Sinn Féin's Martin McGuinness.
Two opinion polls over the past week recorded a big surge in support for Independent Gallagher whose task now is to consolidate this remarkable showing and if transfers fall right for him then he could be destined for The Park.
