This Saturday, November 12, Cavan Lions Club are celebrating their annual charity gala ball in the Hotel Kilmore, Cavan. Cavan Lions Club has been making a huge contribution to the lives of countless people from Cavan and through its international body has been doing tremendous work in providing much needed medical assistance to children and adults in Sudan and other countries hit by famine and war. Formed in 1984 Cavan Lions Club has made a positive impact in terms of improving the lives of those who don't have the means to do so themselves. They work quietly yet effectively in all of this endeavour, yet occasionally the extent of what they do can be seen quite clearly - such as their €100,000 input into the magnificent children's playground at Cathedral Road, Cavan. They also recently ran a children's poster competition which was a huge success, attracting many excellent entries. See this week's Celt for more...
