Border chambers in battle mode over proposed hike
Many small business owners in County Cavan fear that the proposed two per cent VAT increase in the forthcoming budget will be the straw that will break the camel's back as far as retailing is concerned.
This week there is clear apprehension, if not downright alarm, among the business community of the Border region at the nightmare scenario of people heading back in large numbers into Northern Ireland to do their Christmas shopping.
