Frack company will 'abandon' dodgy wells

A Canadian environmental biologist has warned that Tamboran's plans to 'abandon' faulty wells will not prevent potential water pollution. Minutes from a meeting in October between the only company actively pursuing a licensing option in the Lough Allen Carboniferous Basin, and the Commission for Energy Regulation show that wells with integrity issues will be 'abandoned'. "Tamboran stated that the integrity of all its wells will be tested for their proposed Irish development," the minutes read. "Any well that is found to have integrity issues which could result in ground water contamination will be abandoned." For full story, see this week's Anglo-Celt.
