Smyth's grave to remain at Kilnacrott

A religious organisation has agreed to purchase the Holy Trinity Abbey at Kilnacrott in an agreement that would see all existing graves, including that of convicted paedophile Brendan Smyth, remain intact at the abbey. Fr Darragh Connolly, the chaplain to 'Direction for Our Times', which is based in Cavan and boasts a worldwide membership, told The Anglo-Celt this week that they were not making it a condition of the sale that the graves be relocated. Both Fr Connolly and Fr Gerard Cusack from Kilnacrott Abbey said they are moving towards the completion of the sale but denied reports that the sale price was in the region of €1.5m with Fr Connolly saying "it is nowhere near that".
